The Strange Story of a Shining Pearl
In the flow of life, daily decisions and choices that we make create alternative universes where there might exist our duplicates who have been through different experiences. Is there any way to reach them? Can we reach through love and family ties?
This short film is the story of two young sisters trying to reach a magical and shining pearl through the orders of their deceased grandmother, which will open a portal to parallel universes. Will the grandmother reunite with her dead husband again? Can she show her granddaughters that everything is fine?
“The Strange Story of a Shining Pearl” is a fantasy-drama short film taking viewers across time, space, existence and reality.

Fashion Bodies: About Limits, Opinions and War Paint.
Fashion Bodies - About Limits, Opinions and Warpaint is an audiovisual manifesto that brings to the forefront stories from three real people about their relation and experiment with fashion on the way to claim their self-acceptance, image and identity. Through the mix of a semi-documental approach with a fantasy-like atmosphere, this short film shows the constant and unbalanced dance between the constraints and freedoms embedded in ourselves as fashion bodies.

to a broecken image
"Para una imagen rota" ("To a broken image") is a poetic representation of the pressure on women to meet beauty standards in today’s society. Through an elaborately choreographed contemporary dance, our fears and unachievable self-expectations are personified. This way we explore and transmit the suffocation and pain society provokes on 21st century women, in a metaphorical way.
Mikaela Guariniello, a 27-year-old female director. I'm half-Chilean, half-Argentinian, with Italian roots, and I am currently based in Madrid, where I've lived since I was 8.
I've been working in Advertising since 2015 and have directed both commercials and artistic projects in Mexico, London, Barcelona and Madrid.
My work has a strong sense of poetry. I'm deeply interested in exploring and portraying universal emotions through sensory visual language. I like to find beauty in the small details, as well as exploring their profoundness through the camera. I enjoy exploring narrative in different forms, which is why I not only direct but I also write scripts, poetry and short stories.
I graduated from the University Carlos III of Madrid in 2015 with a bilingual MA in Film, TV and Media Studies that included an ex-change program with the University of Torino (Italy).
I won the Vimeo award at the Sundance Channel Short Contest (European) for my first short film, “Sometimes comes sadness” , which I shot whilst at university.
During this time, I also attended various writing courses on poetry and narrative. My collection of short stories, “La Culpa y otros tales”, was selected by the Festival Eñe (Spain) in the section “Four editors in search of an author”.

Hadi Moussally was born in Lebanon in 1987.
By age 18, he decides to go study film direction in France where he acquires a first master’s degree in “Fiction Cinema” from Paris-Est Marne la Vallée University. Moussally then chooses to take on a complementary masters in “Documentary and Anthropological Cinema” from Paris X Nanterre University, in the course of Jean Rouch. From 2012, Hadi Moussally shifts towards the world of fashion and directs several experimental films some of which received various distinctions in festivals. In 2014 he made his first documentary on the end of his grandmother's life, and in 2016 a docu-portrait on a senior model. In 2018 he completed an experimental project on albinism "Positive" whose photos have been exhibited at the UNESCO, the City Hall of Paris and Beirut Art Fair as well. In 2015 he founded the production unit H7O7 whose main objective is to enable the making and promotion of films and photos with "hybrid" vocation where is privileged the mixture of genres between experimental, documentary, fashion and fiction. In 2020, he founded the collective “Hybrid Wave” with around 30 hybrid artists from around the world.
